We are solving the global challenge of nuclear waste management. With five decades of commitment to research and development in spent fuel and nuclear waste management, SKB and SKB International, with senior experts and about 500 employees, are world-leading in this field.

At SKB International, we specialise in providing tailored services for the effective management and disposal of nuclear waste and spent nuclear fuel. Leveraging our extensive expertise, we empower our clients, partners, and implementor organisations at every stage of their journey towards a sustainable solution.

Subsidiary to SKB

SKB International is a subsidiary of the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company, SKB. We supply methodology, technology and know-how developed by SKB, the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company.

Our vision, mission and business goals

SKB International is committed to supporting back-end programmes in other countries by selling services rooted in SKB's expertise and experience. This involves facilitating the company's operations in Sweden by coordinating and disseminating knowledge about SKB internationally.

Our history

In 1984, SKB founded a department in response to requests for technical information and know-how from foreign programmes for the disposal of nuclear waste. In 2001, the department was transformed into a subsidiary of SKB under the name SKB International.
